Piedra Blanda es una exposición antológica realizada entre diciembre de 2023 y marzo de 2024 en la Galería del Diseño del Centro Cultural La Moneda, Santiago. La muestra revisita el hormigón para mostrarlo como un cuerpo sensible, frágil y dúctil, capaz de adaptarse a las formas y texturas de sus moldes. Organizada en siete vitrinas, da cuenta de la trayectoria de una práctica experimental de Victoria Jolly que indaga el material y lo abre a nuevas posibilidades. Todas las piezas fueron obtenidas a través del reemplazo de elementos rígidos de encofrado por membranas flexibles: moldajes textiles que permiten geometrías complejas y dobles curvaturas, convirtiendo el peso del hormigón en una variable del diseño. El título es un oxímoron: yuxtapone dos palabras aparentemente opuestas para aludir a la condición húmeda y maleable del material antes de fraguar.

La exposición se inscribe en el marco curatorial del Centro Cultural La Moneda para la conmemoración de los 50 años del Golpe Militar en Chile. Desde ese contexto, se exhibió una balaustra original del Palacio de La Moneda como punto de partida para una serie de iteraciones escultóricas en hormigón que dialogan con el edificio que las acoge y los vestigios de la historia reciente del país. Junto a registros del proceso constructivo y un video que testimonia el bombardeo al Palacio, la muestra propone una lectura del material como testigo de los acontecimientos. Al cierre, se realizó el lanzamiento del catálogo Piedra Blanda.

Piedra Blanda is an anthological exhibition realized between December 2023 and March 2024 at the Galería del Diseño of the Centro Cultural La Moneda, Santiago. The show revisits concrete to present it as a sensitive, fragile and ductile body, capable of adapting to the forms and textures of its molds. Organized across seven display cases, it traces the trajectory of Victoria Jolly's experimental practice in its investigation of the material and the new possibilities it opens. All pieces were obtained through the replacement of rigid formwork elements with flexible membranes: textile molds that allow complex geometries and double curvatures, making the weight of concrete a variable in the design. The title is an oxymoron: it juxtaposes two apparently opposite words to allude to the wet and malleable condition of the material before it sets.

The exhibition is inscribed within the curatorial framework of the Centro Cultural La Moneda for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Military Coup in Chile. From that context, an original balustrade from the Palacio de La Moneda was exhibited as the point of departure for a series of sculptural iterations in concrete that enter into dialogue with the building that houses them and the vestiges of the country's recent history. Together with documentation of the construction process and a video bearing witness to the bombing of the Palacio, the exhibition proposes a reading of material as witness to events. At the close of the show, the catalog Piedra Blanda was launched.
